ILCO Launches New Contactless 790 Lock
Kaba Ilco Inc., a global leader in access control solutions, today announced the launch of its new RFID (radio frequency identification) lock – the contactless 790 electronic lock.
The contactless 790 electronic lock is the ideal solution for hoteliers looking for optimal security and operational efficiency. It is the result of many years of developing highly effective control systems for the hospitality industry. According to John Sarrouf, vice president of sales at ILCO, “Kaba Ilco Inc. is committed to delivering cutting-edge and technologically advanced solutions. The new 790 electronic lock uses the latest RFID technology to answer hoteliers’ needs for both guest security and staff efficiency.”
The 790 lock is easy to use for guests and staff alike. With an ergonomically designed, intuitive contactless reader, guests simply need to present their keycards to the lock to gain access to their rooms.
One of the challenges commonly faced by owners and operators is the demagnetization of the magnetic stripe on the back of the keycards. This demagnetization occurs as a result of repeated use, static disturbance from cell phones, etc. The use of the contactless MIFARE keycard credentials effectively addresses this concern, no longer making demagnetization an issue. Additionally, the 790 lock reader is fully encased, protecting against vandalism.
